Winifred H. Vander Meer

VANDER MEER, Mrs. Winifred H.
of Kalamazoo, Michigan Went to be with her Lord Tuesday evening August 27, 2013. Winifred was born December 18, 1920 in Elsie, Michigan a daughter of August and Ruth Craddock Gerard. She had been a Kalamazoo area resident most of her life and was employed as an RN at Bronson Hospital and later with the Battle Creek VA Hospital, retiring in 1983. Winifred was also a member of North Park Reformed Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John B. VanderMeer on December 16, 1986; her daughter, Jill Lee on January 8, 2000; her brother, Elmer "Terry" Minshall; and her sister-in-law, Patty Minshall. Winifred is survived by a son, Daniel Markie Vandermeer of Richland; 3 grandchildren, Charla Justin Bauer Vandermeer of Philadelphia, PA, Sheryl Calvin Ruff of Kalamazoo, and Bethany Steve LaBue of Sicily, Italy; 5 great-grandchildren, Cora Hattie Bauer, Cozette and Joya Ruff, and Morgan and Sicily Labue; a sister-in-law, Wilma Woltersom of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be held 1 o'clock Tuesday at North Park Reformed Church, 1316 Barney Rd. Visitation will be 4-6 pm Sunday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Private interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the North Park Reformed Church or Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.
