LYON, William J.
of Portage Passed away April 22, 2009 at his home. Mr. Lyon was born February 13, 1932 in Kalamazoo, and has been a resident since. He had several jobs including the paper mill, Motor Equipment over 20 years and driving cars for local dealerships. He was a Golden member of the Eagle Lodge 526 of Kalamazoo, Michigan for 40 years. He was preceded in death by a son, William Lee Lyon in 1952; his loving wife of 37 years and the mother of his children, Agnes Pauline Bellmer Lyon in 1989; and his second wife of 6 years, Janis Hiemstra Lyon, in 2004. Surviving are two sons, Wendell J. Tony Lyon of Kalamazoo and Donald Carole Lyon of Vicksburg; four daughters, Paula S. Derby of Kalamazoo, Linda Wayne Montgomery of Gas City, IN, Cinda L. McNees of Kalamazoo and Donna M. Steve Ewell of S. Sioux City, NE; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren and expecting two additional; brother, Robert B. Lyon of Iona, MI; sister, Mary Lou Vanderplug of Kalamazoo. No visitation or services are scheduled as cremation has taken place. Family requests that friends join them at the Kalamazoo Eagles 526 on May 1st, 2009 at 5:00pm. Arrangements are by the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
