William Lesman Jr, 93, went to be with the Lord on May 27, 2022. What an exciting day for him to leave this earth and be with his Savior Jesus Christ.
Bill was born on January 14, 1929 on a farm in Scotts, Michigan. He was the youngest of 6 children. He loved telling the story of the doctor arriving on that snowy January day in a sleigh because his car had slipped off the road.
He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School and then began working for Consumers Power Company, where he enjoyed a 41 year career. After retirement he and his wife Jean spent many years volunteering at Stonecroft Ministries in Branson, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean, whom he dearly missed; and his siblings, Iola Balentine, Bernard Lesman, Donald Lesman, Floyd Lesman, and Dorothy Vasold.
Bill is survived by his four children, Judi (Stephen) Cesler, Deborah (David) Kolmodin, William R. (Annie) Lesman, Carol (Steve) Guzdial; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 12:00pm-1:30pm on Friday, June 3, at Langeland Family Funeral Home, 411 E Centre Ave. Portage, MI 49002 where funeral services will be held at 1:30pm with Pastor Bill Abernathy officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
Bill will be remembered by his faithful walk with The Lord and his love for his wife, Jean, and his family. He loved to talk and wave to anyone and everyone. He was diligent in his work, and had a gentle and happy spirit.
