Died Wednesday evening October 16, 2019 at Medilodge of Portage. Bill was born December 25, 1956 in Nottingham, England the son of William M. and Marion Smith. He had been a Portage resident since 1959 and was a graduate of Portage Central High School. Bill worked for Atlas Trucking for 10 years as a parts person and later as a handyman. He was an avid racing fan and enjoyed fishing and working outdoors. Bill was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother, Marion Smith; a sister, Cindy L. Bridges and husband Arthur; a nephew, Spencer Bridges; a niece, Shelby Bridges all of Portage; an aunt and many cousins all of Nottingham, England. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center.
