Virginia Mae (Triemstra) Lee

Passed away Sunday evening, October 20, 2019. Virginia was born April 23, 1936 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Martin and Mildred (Engler) Triemstra. Virginia was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School. On October 26, 1957 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Elvert Richard "Dick" Lee who preceded her in death on May 2, 2019. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Triemstra. Prior to her retirement, Virginia was employed for over 15 years with Western Michigan University as an Executive Secretary with the Electrical Engineering Department. She enjoyed gardening, needlepoint, sewing, and baking. Virginia was a member of the Kalamazoo Garden Club. Together Dick and Virginia enjoyed many years of camping with family and friends. Above all, she loved spending time with those she held most dear. Virginia is survived by her sons, Gary (Marianne) Lee, Randy (Paula) Lee, Steve (Cindy) Lee; grandchildren, Jeremy Lee, Justin Lee (Brittany Morgan), Nicholas (Kelsey) Lee, Nathan Lee, Eric (Alisha) Lee, Elizabeth Lee (Adam Bigelow), Owen Lee; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Larry) Hand; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00am Monday, October 28 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 622 S. Burdick, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. Interment will follow in Yorkville Cemetery. Friends may meet the family from 3-5pm Sunday, October 27 at the Burdick Street Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
