CLANCY, Virginia A. Budnik
Of Portage Virginia passed away late Friday evening, July 12, 2013 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born January 31, 1927, the daughter of the late Vincent and Anna Posielezny Budnik. On April 14, 1951, she was united in marriage to Thomas V. Clancy at St. Adelbert's Catholic Church in Grand Rapids. Virginia was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Portage and enjoyed spending time at the Portage Senior Center playing cards with her friends. She loved traveling the world. Virginia was a loving mother and grandmother and her entire family was fortunate to be with her during her transition. Surviving are her four children, Vincent Clancy of Portage, Dawn Clancy of Portage, Pamela Jim Monroe of Allegan and Shawn Clancy of Los Angeles, CA; six grandchildren, Jessica Brent Clancy-Metts; Vincent Clancy II, Dan Monroe, Thom Monroe, Paige Clancy and Madeline Shulman-Clancy; great-granddaughter, Madison Millek; two sisters-in-law, Jean Clancy and Connie Budnick and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding her in death were her husband; parents; brother, Edward Budnick; and sister, Lorraine Hoffmeyer. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 17, at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre Avenue, date and time to be announced in Tuesday's newspaper. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Diabetes Association.
