Violet Eilene (Cullen) Olson

Passed away Friday morning, August 30, 2019. Violet was born February 6, 1939 in Camdenton, MO the daughter of Harley and Letha (Burns) Cullen. She worked as a cook for various restaurants in the area, her last place of employment prior to her retirement was Nob Hill. Violet enjoyed bowling, bingo and cards, singing, and was a softball coach in earlier years. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and always had love, love, love for them. On June 24, 1961 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Robert Olson at which time she gained a sister, Connie Cullen, and a brother, Lee Webster. Robert preceded her in death on December 31, 2018. She was also preceded in death by a brother Harley Cullen; and a sister, Mary Webster. She is survived by her children, Roberta (Douglas) Lytle of Columbia City, IN, Larry Ray Olson of Portage, MI, Timothy John Olson of Portage, MI, Carol (Daniel) Babcock of Gobles, MI. She was a proud grandma of 7 grandchildren, Robert Olson, Trisha Olson, Heather Widner, Ryan Lytle, Timothy Olson Jr, Casey Cox and Hunter Babcock. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the nurses and CNA's of Medilodge in Portage for their loving care over the years. Friends may meet the family from 6-8pm Wednesday, September 4 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial and Cremation Services, 411 E. Centre, Portage, MI 49002 where services will be held at 11:00am Thursday, September 5. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Rose Arbor Hospice Residence.
