Vernon Dean Sleeman

Vernon D. Sleeman passed away Friday, August 13, 2021. He was born January 13, 1940 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Gordon and Mary Sleeman. Vernon attended school at Climax-Scotts and Comstock Adult Education, where he received his GED. He served in the Army before working at Pemco Wheel and later General Motors until he retired.

A loving and caring man, Vernon is survived by his wife of 62 years, Barbara (Diller) Sleeman; son, Jimmy Dean (Jim and Gladys) Sleeman; grandchildren, Jimmy Dean II, William, Robin, Crystal, Ashley, Angel, Joseph, and John; several great-grandchildren; brother, David Sleeman; sister, Phyllis Harvey; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Joseph, Kevin, and Robin; brothers Earl and Floyd; and sister, Alice.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1:00pm at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South, 3941 S Westnedge Ave, Kalamazoo, MI 49008.
