Passed away Tuesday evening June 11, 2019 at his residence. Tony was born September 5, 1947 in Mattawan, Michigan, the son of Donald C. Gilman and Mildred M. Gilman. A Kalamazoo resident most of his life, a Plainwell graduate in 1965, Mr. Gilman joined the army in 1966, serving in Vietnam 1967¬-1968. He was employed at Parker Hannifin for 38 years, retiring in 2007. Tony was preceded in death by his sister, Delores in 1978, his father in 1989, his mother in 2009 and his wife Carol in 2015. He was united in marriage to Mary Jo Doubblestien in August 1969 and was blessed with a son, Aaron T. Gilman in April 1975. That marriage ended in 1977. He was then united in marriage to Carol S. Arnett in 1979 with her daughters, Tammy McMullen of Kalamazoo and Dina McMullen of Kalamazoo. Mr. Gilman is survived by his children, 6 grandchildren, Ciera Wilson, Roulairen Wilson, Tyler Gilman, Kelcie Sutton, Caleb Sutton and Taten Gilman; 3 great-grandchildren, Kaesen Nakooka, Carlos Hubbard, III, and John Hubbard. Surviving siblings are Donald F. Gilman of Plainwell, Dawn Martin of Kalamazoo, Carol Jarsma of Kalamazoo, Flo Byrd of Nebraska, and Linda Crockatt of Plainwell. Private services and burial will be held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center.
