Thomas "Mac" K. MacPherson

Tom "Mac" MacPherson, 75, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 27, 2019. He was born March 7, 1944, in Lawrence, MI a son of Robert and Georgia (Miller) MacPherson and grew up in Mattawan. Tom served in the US Navy from 1965 to 1967. He worked for the telephone company and retired as a manager from SBC in 1994. After retiring, he moved to Florida and moved back to Portage in 2015. On June 23, 1978, Tom married the former Verna "Vicki" Vickery. He was preceded in death by his parents, six siblings and by Vicki's son, Scot Dailey. Tom is survived by his wife, Vicki; two children, Scott (Courtney) MacPherson and Becky (John) Workman; Vicki's son, Chad (Brook) Dailey; daughter-in-law, Dawn Bennett-Dailey; seven grandchildren, Allyson, Mallori and Ava MacPherson, Charlotte and Adam Workman and Paige and Carli Dailey; a sister, Murvene Wilhite; and several special nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial gathering will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, November 16th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services, 3926 S 9th St, Kalamazoo, MI 49009. Light refreshments will be served and a brief time of remembrance will begin at 2 p.m. Private graveside services will be held in the spring.
