Thomas A. Michelhaugh passed away on July 23, 2019 at the age of 84. He was born in Harleysville, PA on December 5, 1934 to the late Thomas S. and Kathryn (Heckler) Michelhaugh.
Tom retired from the Eaton Corporation after 18 years of service. This capped off a 40 + year career as a mechanical/automotive engineer. He graduated from Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland, OH with B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He was an avid supporter and participant with Habitat for Humanity, spearheading groups from Eaton Corporation and First Presbyterian Church in Kalamazoo. Tom held a keen interest in World War II aircraft and participated in several activities at the AIR ZOO.
Tom is survived by: his wife Ruth (Colberg) Michelhaugh; his children: Susan (Peter) Zollers, Scott (Helene) Michelhaugh and Sharon Michelhaugh (Arnoud Morsink); grandchildren: Jill Michelhaugh, Sam Michelhaugh and Kevin Morsink. He is also survived by his siblings Sara Horch and Richard H. Michelhaugh.
Arrangements were entrusted to Langeland Family Funeral Home Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E Centre Ave, Portage, MI 49002. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 27th at 11:00 AM at First Presbyterian Church of Kalamazoo at 321 W South St, Kalamazoo, MI 49007. A memorial gathering will take place one hour prior to the service. A private interment will take place at a later date.
