GETTYS, Thomas B.
of Portage Passed away November 23, 2011 at his home with family at his side. He was born November 12, 1953 in Kalamazoo to Robert and Colleen Goliday Gettys. He was united in marriage to Brenda "Cookie" Bacon on May 27, 1972. Cookie survives. Tom worked at the Kalamazoo County Juvenile Home for over 25 years. Also surviving Tom are his children, Jamie Dawn Gettys of Fulton and Amie Gettys of Portage; 3 grandchildren, Dannette Harrison, Thomas and Travis Gettys; mother Colleen Gettys; brothers, Dennis Lisa Gettys, Dan Gettys, Bob Pam Gettys, Gordon Gettys and Joe Nancy Gettys; brothers-in-law, Butch Krietz and David Kris Bacon; sisters-in-law, Barb Gettys, Robin Butch Lafler, Lori Lee Coville and Carol Terry; mother-in-law, Pat Bacon; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Preceding Tom in death was his father, Robert; brothers, Leonard Nancy Gettys and Jerry Gettys; sister, Diane Krietz; father-in-law, Don Bacon; brother-in-law, Russell Bacon; and sister-in-law, Wanita Gettys. Family will greet friends on Monday, November 28th from 6-8 PM and on Tuesday from 1-2:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., where funeral services will take place Tuesday, November 29th at 2:00 o'clock.
