Steven K. Curtis

Steven K. Curtis, 60, died unexpectedly on Sunday, January 19, 2020, in Battle Creek, MI. He was born August 31, 1959, in Kalamazoo, MI a son of Robert and Mary (Morris) Curtis.

Steve was an incredibly kind and loving person with a great sense of humor. He loved his children and grandchildren intensely. Through the years he coached basketball for Cara. He was the Cub Scout Pack Leader for the New Buffalo cub scouts creating many memories with Chad. After graduating from Portage Central High School, Steve moved to New Buffalo where he worked for Oselka Marina and raised his children. Later he took a job at Pfizer and moved back to Kalamazoo.

Steve had good times and a lot of laughs enjoying his favorite activities; boating, golfing, bowling, target shooting, riding motorcycles and softball/baseball. He will always be remembered for his huge heart, loving spirit, and quick wit. Even after his life ended, Steve continued to help others by donating to the Gift of Life.

Steven was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Curtis; step-father, John Morse; and brother-in-law, Gary Dunn. Surviving are two children, Chad S. Curtis and Cara K. Curtis; four grandchildren, Bradlee Curtis, Aiden Timm, Elijah Harrison and Jaymie Curtis; former spouse, Kimberly Krametbauer; brother, Bob (Sharon) Curtis; sister, Linda Dunn; many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2:00 Friday afternoon, January 24th at Jac's in Oshtemo, 3112 S 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009.
