Steven Vincent Ailes

AILES, Steven Vincent Vince passed away early Tuesday morning, January 6, 2015. He was born on August 9, 1922 in Texas Twp., the son of Frank and Lula Belle Ailes. Vince was a veteran of the United States Army, where he honorably served our country during World War II. On October 12, 1946, Vince was married to Marylou Garlick. He owned and operated Kalamazoo Rent-A-Trailer for 41 years, until his retirement in 1990. Vince was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife of 68 years, Marylou Ailes; their seven children, Terry Lois Ailes, Randy Sue Ailes, Scott Ruth Ailes, Toni Marc Halverson, Ryan Linda Ailes, Nancy Todd Curran and Todd Joyce Ailes; seventeen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Laverne Ailes, Elroy Ailes and Clarence Ailes; and sister, Allene Fawley. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, Jan. 9, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Pastor Mike Heflin officiating. Interment will follow in Genesee Prairie Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Thursday, Jan. 8, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
