Stanley Sonny Atkins

Stanley Sonny "Rooster" Atkins, a native of Tyronza, Arkansas, was born to Henrietta Atkins and Robert Foulks on April 28, 1953. Stanley leaves to mourn, his ex-wife and friend of fifty years, Daisy Atkins of Kalamazoo, Michigan; his father, Robert Foulks; two daughters, LeVanna Perry and Effie Perry of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one stepson, Elzia Perry of Kalamazoo, Michigan; one foster son, Andrew (Anita) Bell of Lawrenceville, Georgia; five sisters, Juanita Atkins and Kimberly Heggler of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Denise (Harold) Yancy of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Patricia Scott of Marietta, Georgia, and Vanessa Heggler of South Bend, Indiana; three brothers, Thomas Scott, Henry Scott and Ted Smith of Benton Harbor, Michigan; two uncles, Jessie (Edwina) Atkins and Johnny Ward of Benton Harbor, Michigan; two aunts, Eddie Mae (Tiny) Atkins of Benton Harbor, Michigan and Barbara Jett of Mount Laurel, New Jersey; fifteen grandchildren, Tanisha Phipps, Willie Perry, Daisy Perry, Stanesha Perry, Markel Jackson, Tionne Bell, Chamique Perry, Kaniya Ellis, Deshawn Perry, Lyric Perry, Kanani Perry, Zamya Perry, Elijah Perry, Gabby Perry, and Akia Walker; five great grandchildren, Ka'miyah Bell, Kha'leah Bell, My'heir Harp, Kaiden Ellis, and Davis (Bear) Quinn; special friends, William (Will) Johnson, Arans (June) Bradford, Robin Young, Mike King, Carol Booth, Marie Lunzy and John Randall. Stanley was preceded in death by his son, Stanley (Lang Lang) Perry; grandson, Lonnie (June June) Phipps III; his mother, Henrietta Atkins; his stepfather, Theodore Smith; one brother, Fredrick Heggler; five uncles, Clench, Buddy, Slim, Bo Atkins and Joe Lee Atkins; two aunts, Pearl Atkins and his favorite aunt, Bessie Hubert; his grandfather, Edward Atkins; and his grandmother, Effie Burns.
