Age 63, passed away at his home on September 27, 2015. Sam was born on March 10, 1952 in Battle Creek, the son of the late Paul and Beulah (Huntington) Coon. He was retired from Humphery Products of Kalamazoo. Sam enjoyed anything outdoors; hunting, fishing, working on cars, or sitting on the deck meditating on the blessings of life. He was a family man; he loved his wife, children and grandchildren. Sam is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife of 42 years, Brenda; their children, Kimberly (Donald) Birdsall of Battle Creek, Michelle Selbee of Scotts, and Shawn (Jennifer) Coon of Battle Creek; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, David Coon and sister, Barbara McNese; his aunt, Theresa Huntington; and special friend, Les Selbee. Friends my visit the family on Thursday, October 1st, from 5-8 pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 East Maple Street. A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, October 2nd, at 11:00 am at the chapel. Burial will take place at Prairie Home Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donors' choice.
