Ruth Marilyn Stieglitz

Ruth Marilyn Stieglitz, age 87, died February 16, 2016 in Kalamazoo, MI. Marilyn was born July 29, 1928 in Ft. Wayne, IN to the late Donald Burt and Delta Leone (Wurm) Fogle. On June 10, 1951 she was united in marriage to Dr. Lawrence Delong Stieglitz in Indiana. She received her Master's Degree from Indiana University and was an 1st Grade educator with the Kalamazoo Public Schools for 20 years. Marilyn was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo, where she was active with the First United Methodist Women. She found great peace in prayer and loved her FUMC Women's Prayer group. Throughout her last hours she prayed without ceasing for her family and friends. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Lawrence Stieglitz and by a brother Richard Fogle. Surviving are her children Lary (Cindy) Stieglitz, Darwin Stieglitz, Christopher (Frances) Stieglitz and Jonathan (Debra) Stieglitz; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchildren; siblings, Carol (Phillip) Maggart, Mary McKillip, Linda (Steven) McGann and many in-laws, nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 18th at 2:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St, Kalamazoo where family will greet friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:30 PM. Immediately following the service friends are invited to join the family for a time of refreshments in the church fellowship hall. A private interment will be held in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marilyn's memory may be directed to the First United Methodist Women's Ministry; or the Kalamazoo Loaves and Fishes.
