WAGNER, Ronald J.
Of Kalamazoo Ron passed away unexpectedly Monday morning June 13, 2011 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He was born on July 18, 1951 in Plainwell, MI, the son of Herbert S. and Marian Kalleward Wagner. He was a 1969 graduate of Portage Northern High School where he participated in track and field. Ron was a member of the Air National Guard Reserve for six years. He was a carpenter by trade; was employed by Helmus Plumbing and most recently by Perry Harley Davidson. On October 21, 1972 he married his high school sweetheart, Kathryn Hanger. He was a proud and loving father to their two children, Jessie J. Wagner of Kalamazoo, MI and Casey J. Wagner of Reno, NV. Preceding him in death were his parents, Herbert Wagner and Marian and Herschel Kilgore. Ron loved working in his woodshop, playing golf, and riding his motorcycle. He was an avid skier and on ski patrol at Timber Ridge for 10 years. Surviving Ron is his wife and children; a sister, Marcia Bob Cowell; sisters-in-law, Joan Ransbottom, Karen Floyd Johnson, and Judy Visser; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends, including Woody Fraser, Ralph Galvin, Dennis Derhammer, Dan Tkachuk Ted Ruble, and Roger Miller. He will be missed by his devoted pet dog Bode. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St, Oshtemo. A memorial service for Ron will be at 1:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
