Ronald Stephen Sharp, age 90, passed away September 28, 2019 in Kalamazoo, MI. Ron was born November 27, 1928 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Stephen and Josephine (Murawski) Sharp. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-47. On October 22, 1949, he was united in marriage to the former Diane J. Simmonds. He was a longtime Portage area resident who was a master electrician operating Sharp Electric for many years. Ron was an avid bowler who also enjoyed playing bridge. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and the American Foresters.

Surviving are his wife of 70 years, Diane J. Sharp; their children Stephen (Colleen) Sharp and Karen (James) Wendel; eight grandchildren Darcie (Jimmy) Saunders, Scott Adams, Shaun Adams, Stephen (Nicole) Sharp, Brandon Sharp, Colin (Jessica) Sharp, Jodi (Kevin) Byer, Jamie (Hobie) Warren; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by a daughter Suzanne Adams; by his parents and by two sisters Ruth Bombich and Evelyn Kubiak.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00PM on Saturday, October 5th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Burial & Cremation Services, 411 E. Centre Ave. Portage, MI 49024. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00PM on Saturday at the Portage Chapel with Pastor Jim Dyke officiating. A private burial will take place with full military honors in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
