Ronald John Brown, age 74 of Charlotte, formerly of Kalamazoo, passed away December 24, 2020. He was born December 19, 1946 in Flint, Michigan to the late Harry and Ruth (Wilson) Brown.
After 1 year of college, he volunteered for the draft and served for 2 years in the US Army. Ron graduated from MSU with a Master's Degree in Microbiology. He worked at Upjohn for 15 years as a clinical research scientist. At 44, having successfully started his own business, he retired and spent the remainder of his years as an Entrepreneur. Over the years, he mentored hundreds of people in life and business. He loved working with people and his passion for that was only eclipsed by his love for the word of God.
He was best known for his contagious smile and his relentless optimism and joy. He always had a joke or funny story to share to brighten everyone's day, even a stranger.
Ron was a proud patriot who believed in taking care of God, family and country in that order. He spent the last year of his life telling all who would listen that we should learn to love each other without judgement.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Brown; and sister, Evelyn Brown.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of 50 years, Lily (Lambeth) Brown; three children, Maja Brown, Kurtis (Anna) Brown, and Tristan (Andranika) Brown; four grandchildren, Caleb, Micah, Alice, and Rose; brothers, David (Gerri) Brown and Richard (Nancy) Brown; sister, Marilyn (Glenn) Bell; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Per Ron's wishes, cremation will take place and services will be held at a later date.
