OVERLANDER, Robert C.
Of Portage Robert C. "Bob" Overlander was born April 23, 1966, in Kalamazoo, the son of Donald and Celia Jagger Overlander; and went home to be with his Lord on September 19, 2011, in Kalamazoo. He was a graduate of Portage Central High School in 1984 and attended Hope College. On May 20, 1989, he was united in marriage to the former Peggy Molnar. For the past seven years he has worked as an insurance agent with Farm Bureau Insurance of Portage. Bob was a member of the Southridge Reformed Church where he was also a member of the Praise Team. He was also a member of Business Networking International and Portage Rotary Club. Bob loved coaching and had been involved with AYSO, South Portage Little League, Portage Rocket Football programs and most recently involved with Portage Central Boosters. Surviving are his wife, Peggy Overlander; his son, Robbie Overlander; his mother, Celia Overlander; a brother, David Kathleen Overlander; two sisters, Barbara Daniel Afton and Mary Ronald Norris; mother-in-law, Beth Molnar; sister-in-law, Debbie Don VanHoe; brother-in-law, Tim Mary Molnar; nieces and nephews, Abigail Steve Rogers, Thomas, Katherine and Jacob Afton, Amy Dion Campbell, Amanda Norris, Jennifer VanHoe, April Nate Jepkema, Brandi Andrew Martin, Dan Nicole Molnar, Dave and Cole Molnar. Preceding Bob in death was his father, Donald Overlander in 1996. A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 23rd at Southridge Reformed Church 6726 Texas Drive with Pastor Mark Vanderson officiating. Immediately follow services there will be a luncheon in the church fellowship hall. A private family interment will be held in Portage South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM on Thursday, September 22nd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. and at the church on Friday from 10 to 11 AM.
