HILLIARD, Robert I. "Rob"
Plainwell, MI Rob Hilliard, age 64, passed away peacefully on Sunday afternoon, January 11, 2015 in Bronson Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on October 1, 1950 in Muskegon, MI, son of the late Irv and Dena Bathrick Hilliard. Rob retired in 2009 from Henkel Corp. where he worked as a chemical engineer. Rob was a member of First United Methodist Church of Kalamazoo where he loved to sing in the choir. He also enjoyed volunteering his time as a Ramp Up Leader with Disability Network of Southwest Michigan. On February 9, 1974 Rob married the former Nancy Paulsen, who survives. Also surviving are: two children, Amy Beth Thomas Bussott of Kalamazoo and Scott Jamie Hilliard of Rochester Hills; four grandchildren, Alec, Jenna, Maxwell and Rory; a sister, Paula Ken Johnson; a brother, Thomas Lisa Hilliard; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rob's family and friends will gather for visitation from 4 to 7pm Friday at First United Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St., and a memorial service will be held 11am Saturday at the church. Memorials may be directed to Disability Network of Southwest Michigan - Ramp Up or to First United Methodist Church - Music Ministry.
