Robert George Brown

Robert "Bob" G. Brown, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018. He was born November 19, 1937 to the late Harry and Ruth (Wilson) Brown. Bob was united in marriage to Janice Ransom on August 16, 1958. He served in the U.S. Army until honorably discharged. Bob loved spending time with his family and friends. His hobbies included making 14 violins and a cello. He also enjoyed listening to and playing music. Bob was very supportive of family and friends and liked to help out in any way he could. Bob retired from GM with 35 years of employment. Bob is survived by his wife, Janice Brown; children, Randy (Linda) Brown, Ricky (Paula) Brown, Kenny (Beth) Brown, Clint (Dawn) Brown, Shane (Pina Patel) Brown and Jennifer Brown; 17 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, David (Gerri) Brown, Richard (Nancy) Brown, Ron (Lily) Brown and Marilyn (Glenn) Bell; and several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Gillett. The family will greet friends on Saturday, May 5th from 10am - 1pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St., where a funeral service will begin at 1:00pm. Interment will follow in West Oshtemo Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center or to the American Diabetes Association.
