Randal Lee Daane

Randal "Randy" Daane, 64, passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at his home. Randy was born January 31, 1954 in Kalamazoo, to Alvin "Al" and Joyce "Joy" (Westerhouse) Daane. He was a 1972 graduate of Portage Central High School. He loved sailing, hunting, NASCAR, drag racing, Indy car racing, and the Michigan Wolverines. He was proud to have been able to crew on the S/V Nice Pair sailing yacht in the 2006 Chicago to Mackinac race. He was a self-employed roofer for many years and currently employed as a sub-contractor for Michigan Power Cleaning Inc. Randy is survived by his son, Ian (Amber) Daane; 4 grandchildren; mother, Joy Daane; and siblings, Deborah (Richard) VanGorp and Jeffrey Daane. He was preceded in death by his father, Al; and brother, Ricky Alan Daane. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, December 4th from 1-2pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave. A memorial service will begin at 2:00pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association or the charity of your choice.
