Phyllis Mae (Ridder)

Died on April 13, 2016. She was preceded in death by her beloved son Tom, her younger sister Aylene, her husband Dick, her mother Marie and her father Emil, and two wonderful dogs, Cara and Katie.

Phyllis was born on July 21, 1923 in Brampton, North Dakota. In addition to being a loving mother to her daughters Kathy and Susan, and her son Tom, she was employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Company for over 30 years. Phyllis loved gardening, birds, dogs, the Detroit Tigers, cars, wildlife (especially wolves), writing, reading, 1940s music, and poetry.

For many years she took grandchildren Ryan and Amanda to school, and welcomed them when they came home. She was famous for her potato salad and was always willing to make it "one more time". The smell of cinnamon rolls often welcomed her own children home from school,

She was known for her generosity toward others and her positive outlook on life. She was a strong, compassionate person, always willing to help others in need. Throughout her life, Phyllis had a strong faith in God.

She is survived by daughters Kathy Fevig (and David), Susan Michaud (and Joel Garb), daughter-in-law Kathy Johnson, grandchildren Sarah, Joel, Ryan, and Amanda, and sister Shirley Kurtz (and Jim).
