of Three Rivers, Michigan Passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013. Age 88. Oma was born in Hardy, Arkansas on October 27, 1924, the daughter of the late Robert and Lillie Davis Vardell. She was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Three Rivers. She enjoyed Bird watching, shopping at Goodwill, country music and spending time with her dog "Pee Wee". She was married to James A. Pendergrass in Hardy, Arkansas on August 10, 1946; he preceded her in death on February 3, 1996. Surviving are 3 children, Bettie Ann Richard Kilburn of White Pigeon, Darlene Jake Goens Slater of Bangor and James A. Kathryn Pendergrass Jr. of Mendon; five grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Flora May Mitchell of Florida and Ora "Pansy" Pierce of Arkansas. She was preceded in death by three sisters and three brothers, Mattie, Faye, Alice, Virgil, Bill and Toby. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013. Pastor Kyle Foster will officiate with interment in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Calvary Missionary Baptist Church of Three Rivers or a charity of the donor's choice.
