Passed away at her home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the age of 91. Norma was born in Chicago, IL on February 14, 1925, the daughter of the late Nathan and Eva Kaplan. She attended the University of Illinois for two years. She was married to Marshall Gardner on September 4, 1948; he preceded her in death on April 6, 1997. She was a former member of Temple B'Nai Israel. She belonged to the Kalamazoo Weavers Guild and was extremely passionate about cooking. Norma is survived by two children, Susan (Eddie) Weinberg of Hollywood, FL and Jeff (Kitty) Gardner of Portage; three grandchildren, Ryan (Emily) Gardner, Emily (Chase) Cottingham and Alison (Ryan) Seim; ten great-grandchildren; one brother, David Kaplan; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Adeline Shneider. Cremation has taken place and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main Avenue, 5th floor, Norwalk, CT 06851.
