Kalamazoo, MI Died Sunday morning July 24, 2011. Marian was born October 19, 1920 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a daughter of Walter and Elsie Stephens Hunt. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with the Kalamazoo Public Schools for 25 years, retiring in 1981. Marian was also a member of the Kalamazoo Area Retired Teachers Association. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 7 siblings, Douglas, Howard, Eva, Clyde, Leon, and Marjorie Hunt, and Josephine Haley. On June 29, 1946, she was united in marriage to William W. Johnson who survives. Also surviving, 2 children, Patricia Johnson of Portage and William B. Claire Johnson of Hermitage, TN; 3 grandchildren, Robert R. Johnson, Erin Jacob Harper, and Ryan Shiho Grover; 3 great-grandchildren; a brother, Leo Betty Hunt of Gobles; 2 sisters-in-law, Latona Hunt of Plainwell and Mildred Hunt of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Thursday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Friends may meet the family 5-8pm Wednesday at the chapel. Private burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
