PALMORE, Mrs. Mavis
of Kalamazoo Mother Mavis Palmore passed from death to life on Thursday, June 16, 2011. She was born May 27, 1925, in Plain Dealing, LA, to C. L. and Rosie Ford Stove. On March 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to Elbert E. Palmore, who survives. She retired from Borgess Hospital after 27 years of service. She was a faithful member of the Upper Room Church of God in Christ where she was the Church Mother. She was a true soldier of the Lord, always saying, "Take the Lord along with you, everywhere you go." Besides her husband, she leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Elder Edward D. Palmore of Kalamazoo, daughter, Linda George Glover, Kalamazoo, two grandsons, Malcolm L. Ware II, Farmington Hills, MI, Matthew E. Christina Ware, Kalamazoo and two great-granddaughters, Ahnikah and Calianna Ware, one sister, Flordia Palmer, Kalamazoo, three brothers-in-law, 4 sisters-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. A Family Hour will be held from 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 22nd at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Thursday, June 23rd at Tabernacle Church of God in Christ 3210 Virginia Ave. with her son, Pastor Edward D. Palmore officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. The family would like to thank Borgess Visiting Nurses and Hospice for their time and help, especially Kathy, home help and Chris, the nurse. We are also appreciative of the care given to our loved one at Tendercare Westwood.
