Portage, MI Passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at Kairos Dwelling in Kalamazoo, of a sudden illness. Age 84. Mary Lou was born in Eaton Rapids, MI on March 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Roy and Harlinda Marti Gordier. She was employed as a Registered Nurse for Leila Hospital in Battle Creek and later owned and operated Nelson Hardware in Portage. She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church. She enjoyed volunteering with hospice and Meals on Wheels. She was married to Robert Frank Rowe in 1953; he preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by six children, Bob Rowe, Ann Chris Giuliano, Mary Rowe, Bill Alan Angeloff Rowe, Jean Ed Truitt and Jim Rowe; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother, Betsy Herman and Bill Gordier; many nieces and nephews; and dear family members Carol and Rick. She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Tom Gordier, Jim Gordier, Bob Gordier, Kathleen McGrath and Roy Gordier. Friends may visit with the family from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49002. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 1150 W. Centre Avenue, Portage, MI 49024. Rev. Fr. Kevin Covert will officiate. Private entombment will take place in Battle Creek Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Kairos Dwelling, 2945 Gull Rd., Kalamazoo, MI 49048.
