Klok, Mary M.
Kalamazoo Mary M. Klok passed away October 25, 2013 in Kalamazoo at the age of 79. She was born on September 4, 1934, in Kalamazoo, the daughter of the late Peter and Estella De Vries Holtman and was a lifelong resident of the area. She worked for the Gibson Guitar Company before joining for the Upjohn Company, where she worked as a head cashier for 25 years. After retirement, she volunteered at Borgess Hospital for 18 years. On December 11, 1952, she married Robert W. Klok, who preceded her in death on February 4, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald Klok; a grandson, Matthew Johnson; 3 brothers, Claus Holtman, John H. Holtman and Fred H. Holtman; and a sister, Theresa Holtman. Mary is survived by her son, Gary Vanetta Klok of Denver; a daughter, Cheryl Jerome Johnson of Portage; a daughter-in-law, Linda Klok of Kalamazoo; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 1:00 PM, in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St., with Pastor Dave Barringer, of K First Assembly, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South.
