Went to be with her Lord Wednesday morning, June 14, 2017. Marie was born May 3, 1920 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Lawrence and Anna (Barendsen) VerHage. She was a faithful member of Twin Lakes Reformed Church and enjoyed various activities there. Marie loved her family and especially enjoyed spending time with them; and attending her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren's various events. On October 12, 1938 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Leonard "Lee" Timmerman who preceded her in death on July 18, 2005. Marie was also preceded in death by 7 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her children, Lavonne Counterman, Sandra (Ronald) Boelman, Robert (Paulette) Timmerman, Joyce (William) Hubbard, Michael (Bethany) Timmerman; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family from 10:00-11:00am Friday, June 16 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where services will follow at 11:00am with Pastor Ron Lugten officiating. Interment will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery following a light luncheon at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Twin Lakes Reformed Church.
