of Portage Passed away April 1, 2011 at home. She was born September 15, 1928 in Duplin County, NC to the late Arthur and Lucy Teachey Mobley. Lucy was united in marriage to Charles Davis, on December 23, 1959. Charles survives. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School for 30 years, at the First Baptist Church of Portage. Also surviving Lucy are her children, Regina Dalton Frensley of Rochester, MI, Gary Lori Davis of Schoolcraft and Charlotte "Char" Steve Ripka of Rochester, MI; step-son, Charles "Chuck" Ray Davis, Jr., of Dallas, TX; 6 grandchildren, Alexandra Frensley, Carly Frensley, Justin Ripka, Claudia Ripka, Garrett Davis and Logan Davis; sister, Hilda Sholar; and many nieces and nephews. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 6-8:00 o'clock at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 East Centre Ave., where services will take place on Thursday at 12:00p.m. Burial will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. By request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorials in Lucy's name may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association of Kalamazoo, 2300 Portage St., Suite 341, Kalamazoo, MI 49001.
