YOUNGS, Lloyd C.
of Scotts Passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011. Lloyd was born April 10, 1938 in Battle Creek, MI, a son of Carroll and Marion Piper Youngs and was a lifelong resident of Scotts. He worked for Preferred Plastics in Plainwell for 19 years and had served as the Chief of the Pavilion Township Fire Department for 19 years. He was a life member of the Knights of Pythias, Scotts Lodge and a member of the Old Tyme Power Equipment Club. Lloyd was an avid camper and he and his wife, Marlyn, would often go to their vacation property in Frederic, MI. He also loved gardening, hunting, building bird houses, Lil' Tootie, his steam traction tractor and the Detroit Tigers and Lions. On April 27, 1963, he married Marlyn Borton, who survives. Lloyd is also survived by their children, Lisa Rip Soule and Brian Youngs, all of Scotts; a grandson, Jake Soule; two brothers, Merwin Diane Youngs and Charlie Youngs; nieces and nephews; 4 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Richard Soule, III; and a sister, Margaret White. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St., with Rev. David Mackaluso officiating. Interment will follow in Gilson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5-8 PM.
