Kalamazoo Linda died Saturday morning, April 4, 2009, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born July 29, 1946, in Kalamazoo, MI, a daughter of Donald and Shirley Sanderson Freeman and had been a life long area resident. After graduating from Portage Central High School, Linda began working as a receptionist for the Kalamazoo Gazette, where she made many life long friends. Even after leaving the paper to raise her family she continued to meet her friends on a regular basis. Linda also operated her own home daycare for many years. She was a member of Ravine Road Baptist Church. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Shirley A. Freeman. On April 11, 1970, Linda was united in marriage with Terry G. Ream, who survives. Also surviving are: two sons, Shawn Rebecca Thoene Ream of Leclaire, IA and Chad Kimberley Ream of Portage; five grandchildren, Zachery Ream, Kyle Ream, Makenzy Ream, Madison Ream and Aidan Thoene; a sister-in-law, Mary Ted Dinsmore; and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday morning at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., with Pastor Harold Brown, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Private inurnment services will be held in Mount Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
