Leora Eileen (Shroyer) DeVries

Leora Eileen DeVries, age 101, went home to be with her Lord on December 16, 2019. Leora was born May 29, 1918 to Charles and Maude (Shannon) Shroyer. In 1941, Leora was united in marriage to Matthew Schipper, who preceded her in death in 1973. In 1982, she was united in marriage to Harm E. DeVries, who preceded her in death in 2008.

Leora was long-time active member of Centerpoint Church, where she participated in many of the church activities including choir and senior groups. She enjoyed travelling in the United States and Overseas. Leora was an avid golfer and continued golfing until the age of 97. The most important part of her life was her love of God, her family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda (Jack) Heystek; grandchildren: Laurie (George) Stamas, Julie (Phil) Collison, and Matthew (Kristine) Heystek; great-grandchildren: Hope, Cassandra, Nicholas, Cole, Austin, Ryan, Lucas, Tyler; step-children: Robert (Debra) DeVries, Donna (Dennis) Hartman-Brooks, Charles (Debra) DeVries; step-grandchildren: Whitney Lassini, Todd (Sarah) Hartman, Pam (Steve) Roberts, Shannon DeVries, Danielle (Kevin) Floyd; step-great-grandchildren: Chase, Alyson, Taylor, Lily, Silas, Caleb.

Funeral services for Leora will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 20th at Centerpoint Church Chapel, 2345 N. 10th Street. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
