Died Tuesday morning July 31, 2018 at his residence. Lawrence was born October 15, 1958 a son of Lawrence and Marie (Gates) Ward. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo resident and was employed with Furr Automotive for 29 years. Lawrence enjoyed old radios, racing, and old cars. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Susan M. (Hughson) Ward on January 17, 2018. Lawrence is survived by a daughter, Sarah Ward of Kalamazoo; 3 grandchildren, Dominique, Shanga, and Kerstin; brother-in-law, Ron (Jan) Hughson of Kalamazoo; a sister-in-law, Cheryl (Jerry) Andrews of Kalamazoo; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Friday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Graveside services will be held 1 o'clock in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Battle Creek VA Hospital.
