WEBER, Laural M.
of Galesburg Laura passed away Tuesday morning, November 22, 2011 at Borgess Medical Center. She was born May 4, 1948 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Jerry and Evelyn Lyke Smith. In 1966, Laura graduated from Loy Norrix High School and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She was employed by The Upjohn Co. for over 25 years. Laura was an active member of New Apostolic Church in Portage and was very artistic and creative. Surviving are her two daughters, Lindsay and Whitney Weber; grandson Dominic Syts; five sisters, Jackie Raab, Janet Ken Cook, Geri David Gerhard, Joan David Temple and Jean Richard Heighton; three brothers, Richard Helen Smith, Robert Smith and Tim Robin Smith; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother, Jerry Dale Smith; and step-mother, Betty Smith. Memorial services for Laura will be at 6:30 PM on Monday at New Apostolic Church, 2601 Kalarama Avenue, Portage, with Evangelist Peter Cook officiating, and friends may visit with the family from 4:30 PM until the time of service. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center or New Apostolic Church Youth Group.
