Larry B. Patnode

Passed away Saturday afternoon, August 20, 2022. Larry was born October 10, 1950 in Kalamazoo the son of Claire and Thelma (Rustenholtz) Patnode. Larry graduated from Loy Norrix High School and Michigan State University.  He attended U of M. Larry worked for Star Trucking, Humphrey Products, Kalamazoo Pant Company/Redwood and Ross, Edwards/Kazoo Inc. from which he retired from as vice-president in 2014. Larry loved to hike the dunes in Saugatuck with his good friends and his dog, Ghillie. He enjoyed traveling and visited many exciting locations.  Larry always had a love of cars and enjoyed attending car shows whenever possible. He was deeply loved by all his family and friends.

Larry is survived by his sister, Barbara (Helmer) Larson; longtime best friend, Michael Glanis; nieces, Cindy (Robert) Moon, Debra (Tim) Beebe, Diane (Ken) Patnode-Fletcher, Chris (Gary) Mahieu, Pam (Scott) Hoye , nephews, David Patnode,  and Daniel Patnode; several great nieces and nephews; longtime friend, Dianne Tahtinen, and his very much loved canine companion, Ghillie. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister, Lee (Katherine) Patnode and Lillian (Jim) Hopper. Friends may meet the family from 12:00-1:00pm on Friday, August 26 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo, MI 49009 where funeral services will follow at 1:00pm.
