McCUE, Larry
Of Gun Lake Larry passed away unexpectedly on Thursday evening, January 31, 2013. He was born March 30, 1947 in Kalamazoo, the son of Ivan and Donna DeYoung McCue. Larry joined the United States Army when he was 17 years old and served 12 years during the Vietnam Conflict. He has been employed by Graphic Packaging for the past 29 years as a master electrician. Larry was very knowledgeable about military history, especially the civil war. He was a proud member of the N.R.A. and a life member of the Comstock VFW Post #6252. On, January 31, 1976, he was united in marriage to the former Cheryl J. Shidler, who survives. Also surviving are their three sons, Garry McCue of Kalamazoo, Nathan Diana McCue of Kalamazoo and Eric McCue of Gun Lake; ten grandchildren, Morgan, Gabriel, Madison, Willow, Joey, Brenten, Zachery, Logan, Caden and Ashton; mother, Donna Vance; brother, Melvin CeCe McCue of Kalamazoo; two sisters, Linda Terry Smith of Kalamazoo and Tammy Lew Whitlatch of Jenison; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his father, Ivan McCue and step-father, Bert Vance. A committal service and military honors will be on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 2:00 PM at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, with Pastor Tom Tufts officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 5-8 PM on Monday evening at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street.
