Lance E. Pierce, age 38 of Portage, died on August 21, 2022. He was born on March 7, 1984, in Plainwell, Michigan, the son of Cynthia (Hueschen) and Warren Pierce. Lance was a 2002 graduate of Plainwell High School where he was involved in wrestling and football. Lance received his massage therapy license and was always willing to help his family and friends with their aches and pains. He also spent time working on cars and hanging out with his close friends. He was an entrepreneur at heart and was always working towards a new goal. Many people know him from his time working at One Well Brewing. He was on the pinball league at the brewery and enjoyed his disc golf league. He had a lifetime love of animals and was often snuggling his dog Elsa on the couch. Lance also spent a lot of time taking pictures of dogs & other animals to try get them forever homes while they were at shelters. He loved listening to various types of music and he made playlists for so many who he thought would enjoy his taste in music. He was a gentle spirit who was easy for everyone to love. He was such an extravagant person that he never needed an occasion to dress up in a fancy suit or fancy tuxedo. He would often catch people going to leave and start up a whole new conversation that would exceed the normal “mid-western goodbye”; his friends and family called this getting “Lanced”.
His family includes his siblings: Michael (Jody) Hueschen and Ty (Kelsey) Pierce; his nieces: Kaylee and Hannah Hueschen; his nephew: Gordon Hueschen; and other extended family and so many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
