Laird Douglas Murray

Beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather, Laird (Larry) passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at his residence. Larry was born September 25, 1940 in Coopersville, Michigan, the son of Wayne and Norma (Campbell) Murray. Remembered for his love of family, his wit, his zest for a healthy debate and his mirthful laughter, he had been a Kalamazoo area resident since 2007. He lived many years in Roscommon and was employed with Kirtland Community College as a teacher for 30 years before retiring. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Jocelyn Murray. On February 27, 1971, he was united in marriage to Christiana M. (Moskalik) Murray who survives. Also surviving are two children, Derrek (Kathy) Murray of Battle Creek and Abigail (Michael) Murray of Wheaton, IL; two grandchildren, Josh and Olivia; four grandpets; and a sister, Heather (Gloria) Murray of Sarasota, FL. The family will host a private celebration of life memorial and burial at a later date. There will be no visitation.
