of Kalamazoo, Michigan Kathy passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 18, 2012 at Kairos Dwelling. She was born February 2, 1947 in Kalamazoo. Kathy was a devoted wife, loving mother, and unforgettable grandmother to all of her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Gary D. Gustin; three children, Rob Marcia Burdick of Virginia, Tammy Joe Burdick-Rice of Maryland and Brad Janice Burdick of Kalamazoo; ten grandchildren, Beth and Kris Burdick, Kyle, Maryjoe and Annie Rice, Zoe, Julien and Lucca Burdick; Nathan Collier and Nick Campbell; two step-children, Greg Vicki Gustin and Michelle Mark Wellman; four step-grandchildren, Tara and Andrea Gustin and Philip and Rachel Wellman; two sisters, Karel Eames of Comstock and Jackie French of Allegan; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her parents, Clarice and Robert Searles. A memorial service for Kathy will be at 10:00 am on Saturday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street. Private inurnment will be in Schoolcraft Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Kairos Dwelling.
