HIGHFIELD, Kathleen J.
Of Kalamazoo, MI A devoted wife and mother, Kathleen passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer Monday morning, May 4, 2009. She was born January 17 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Sol and Helen Fausnaugh Rench; was a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area and a graduate of Kalamazoo Central. She was employed for over 35 years with the Upjohn/Pfizer Company and was a member of the Calvary Bible Church and the Elks BPOE #50. Kathleen was an avid sports fan, and a huge U of M football fanatic. She also enjoyed playing tennis and golf, horseback riding, canoeing, biking, playing cards, and trips to Ludington with her grandchildren. On September 29, 1979 she was united in marriage to Terry Highfield who survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Michael Denise Conklin, Darren Jennifer Conklin; 4 grandchildren, Jessica, Sean, Jack, and Emily Conklin; and 2 step-children, Dan Highfield, and Julie Highfield. A service to celebrate Kathleen's life will be held 11:00 o'clock Friday at the Calvary Bible Church, 855 S. Drake Rd, with Pastor Brian Craddock officiating. Friends may meet the family Thursday from 5-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 South Burdick Street. Private interment will be in Riverside Cemetery.
