Katherine 'Kay' Van Hoe

VAN HOE, Katherine "Kay"
Of Kalamazoo Passed away Sunday morning, September 8, 2013 in Defiance, OH. Kay was born November 17, 1920 in Kalamazoo the daughter of Peter and Alice Gerlofs Drenth and had been a lifelong Kalamazoo resident. She was a member of Third Reformed Church now Centerpoint and enjoyed traveling, gardening, baking, and spending time with her family. On May 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Harold VanHoe who preceded her in death on March 4, 2007. She was also preceded in death by a daughter in law, Kathy VanHoe; brother and sister, Harold Drenth and Sandra Pope. She is survived by her children, Ruth Joe McCarthy, Larry VanHoe, Ronald VanHoe, Jeffrey VanHoe; a grandson, Greggory VanHoe; sister-in-law, Doris Drenth; brother-in-law, Arnold Pope; and several nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Kay's life will be held at 11:00 Wednesday in the chapel at Centerpoint Church, 2345 N. 10th Street with Pastor Franklin VanOosten officiating. Friends may meet the family Tuesday evening tonight from 6-8pm at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street and Wednesday morning from 10-11:00 at church. Private interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Senior Ministries at Centerpoint.
