Karen Arnette (Cleveland) Swanson

Karen (Cleveland) Swanson, age 59 of Kalamazoo, gained her wings on May 7, 2021 at Bronson Hospital. She was born October 12, 1961 in Grand Rapids, Michigan,she is the daughter of Arthur and Glenora (Taylor) Cleveland. She graduated from Ottawa Hills High School. Karen worked for Designware and Textile and she enjoyed cooking, decorating and creating a beautiful home. Along with her husband Tyra. She loved to cook and bake for family and friends and they will mostly remember her by cooking greens, cheesecake, caramel cake, turkey and dressing and ect. Karen adored all her grandchildren and was often found shopping for things for them. Her family includes her husband Tyra Swanson; her children: Glenora "Nikki" Cleveland, Sheena (Derrick Gordon) Johnson, Jasnyne Kyles, Antoine Kyles, Demario Brown and Charta (Eric) Battle; her grandchildren: Savannah Gordon, Madison Gordon, Asia Kyles, Steven Guy, and Messiah Kyles, Antoine "A.J." Kyles, Jr., Ariah Kyles, Ahmir Kyles, Malia Morrow, Elijah Brown, Velora Grigby,Ebony Battle,Onyx Battle, ; her brother and sister, Kennedy Cleveland and Annette Taylor, and 4 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Glenora Cleveland.

Although Karen has departed from this life, she leaves a footprint of love and will truly be missed.
