Joyce Carol Leo

Joyce C. Leo, age 80, died on January 26, 2022, in Paw Paw, Michigan. Joyce was born August 4, 1941, in Coshocton, Ohio, the daughter of Lyle and Mary (Little) Kennedy. She was a graduate of New Albany High School. For over 20 years, she worked in marketing for Nationwide Insurance. For 29 years, she was married to her favorite golf partner and the love of her life, Robert Leo. Sadly, he passed unexpectedly in 2016. The couple had lived in Columbus, Ohio and later in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, where Robert owned an insurance agency. When they made plans to retire, Bob and Joyce looked for the perfect golf community and the couple settled in Southern Pines, North Carolina, where they were members of Long Leaf Golf Club for 30 years. Joyce was a natural golfer and loved the game. She played courses all over the world. Joyce is survived by her step-daughter, Angel (Kip) Quinn; her grandchildren, Melia and Gavin Quinn; her niece, Tish (Tom) Anderson; her great-nephew, Collin Bates and her great-niece, Lauren Bates. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, and her sister, Barbara Beardsley. The family will honor Joyce's wishes to not hold a traditional service. Instead, her family will celebrate Joyce's life with a round of golf on her home course in Southern Pines, N.C., in memory of her. They encourage her friends and golf partners across the years to do the same on their favorite course.
