Joyce Ann (Perkio) Eldred

Joyce A. Eldred, age 84, passed away July 8, 2021 at her home. She was born November 25, 1936 in Escanaba, Michigan to the late Eugene and Lillian (Martinson) Perkio.

Joyce was a graduate of Michigan State University, finishing with an Associate's degree. She became a member of Clipped Wings after retiring as an airline stewardess from United Airlines and returning home to care for her family. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the International Order of Job's Daughters. She attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kalamazoo with her family. Joyce was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, George Richard Eldred, on January 30, 1960. Together, they enjoyed traveling (including over 20 cruises!), as well as dancing, and attending their grandchildren's sporting events. Joyce loved to read and craft with crochet, sewing, and needlework.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, George Eldred; her parents; and a brother, Gene Perkio.

Joyce is survived by her children, George (Tamara) Richard Eldred, Jr. of Houghton Lake, MI, Robyn (Joseph) Krill of Portage, and Rhonda (Scott) Ochsenrider of Three Rivers; grandchildren, Heather, George Richard III, and Trisha Eldred, Ryan (Alyssa) and Holly Krill, and Kyle, Anna, and Justin Ochsenrider; five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Gary Perkio.

Private family services will be held at Langeland Family Funeral Homes Burial & Cremation Services.
