Passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at the age of 48. John was born in Kalamazoo on January 12, 1967. He graduated from Galesburg High School and then served his country in the United States Navy. Following his service in the Navy, he attended ITT Technical Institute. He was a former member of Vicksburg United Methodist Church. Among his hobbies, he especially enjoyed fishing and drawing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his children, Jacob Allen Mason and Rachael Ann Mason; his mother, Wanda Elaine Coskey; his father, Roger LeRoy Mason; his sister, Terri Lee Mason; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and two special friends, Teva and Tim Stevens. John was preceded in death by his step-father, Alfred Coskey; his brother, Brad Mason; and his grandmother, Virginia Dibble. Friends may visit with the family at 12 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2016 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Galesburg Chapel, 145 W. Battle Creek St. A brief prayer service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Interment with full military honors will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.
