NUYEN, Johan "Joe"
of Comstock, Michigan Passed away peacefully, Thursday evening, July 17, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born December 2, 1942 in Kalamazoo to late Sam and Fredericka Hansen Nuyen. On May 17, 1963 he was united in marriage to his loving wife, Lois Wilson, who preceded him in death on May 23, 2012. Together they owned and operated the Fast Freddie's Pit Stop Restaurants in the Kalamazoo area. Joe enjoyed farming and doing just about anything hands on. He also loved all his dogs and cats and most of all spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Nuyen; 4 brothers; 2 sisters; and a sister-in-law. Surviving Joe are his children, Daniel and Adrianna, Sammy and Tamy, Teresa and James, Freddy, and Paula; 15 grandchildren: 5 great-grandchildren with another on the way; brothers, Jim and John; sister, Gertrude and Jake; sisters-in-law, Onie and Barb; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. There will be no visitation. A memorial celebration of life will take place on Saturday, September 6th, 1:00 o'clock at Jim's home, 6423 East L Ave., Kalamazoo, MI 49048. Memorial donations may be made to the family for building of a ramp for Joe's disabled son, Freddy. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick.
